The Council would like your input into whether local residents or their family are interested in affordable housing in Finningley.
We have organised an “Open Day” on Wednesday 11th October 2017 in the new Pavilion from 3.30 pm to 7.30 pm when you can meet the Planners, Developers and Councillors, ask any questions, get more information and more importantly give us your opinion / feedback.
Finningley Parish Council would prefer to use this land for allotments but it would need Planning Permission from Doncaster Council. Robin Hood Airport is a statutory Consultee and have objected to allotments on the grounds of safety (to avoid bird strikes to aircraft).
Our view is that if such a project was to proceed the houses should primarily be for the benefit of the current residents of the village, the children of current residents who wish to settle in the village or close relatives of current residents who wish to move nearer to their families.
We can possibly secure this outcome through a legally binding S106 Agreement.
To help us decide what to do we need to have an idea of the demand from within the village. Please come along to the open day and tell us if you or close relatives of yours are interested in this unique opportunity to get affordable homes for families with local connections.
